Story

Legend has it that deep in the Fujian province of China there was an old temple housing a statue of Buddhist deity Guanyin and every day Mr Wei would pass the temple and dismay at the condition of the temple. Having little money and no means to repair the temple but wanting to do something so he purchased a broom and twice a month would lite an incense stick and sweep the temple. After several months of this Guanyin appeared to Mr Wei in a dream and told him that he would find treasure in a cave behi behind the temple. It was in this cave that Mr Wei found a single tea shoot that he cultivated, named Tiequanyin and prospered from its sale and was able to have the temple repaired.
