Le Chat Noir

Le Chat Noir or The Black Cat was a bohemiam cabaret club first opened in 1881 in the Montmartre district of Paris. It lasted just sixteen years before closing it's doors in 1897. The club was the first modern caberat club and was the favoured club of many of Frances celebrities of the time including Claude Debussy, Yvette Guilbert, Toulouse-Lautrec and Henri Rivière. While the club itself is now long gone its memory lives on in the clubs iconic signage which remains popular to this day.
